Renesas Electronics Group, a global semiconductor solutions provider, announced that it has launched a technology IP cooperation with Andes Technology, a leading supplier of RISC-V architecture embedded CPU cores and related SoC development environments. Renesas chose AndesCoreTM 32-bit RISC-V CPU core IP to apply to its new dedicated standard products, and will begin to provide customers with samples in the second half of 2021.risc-v architecture assp productFrankwell Lin, President of Andes Technology, said: "As a top MCU supplier, Renesas has designed the Andes RISC-V core into its pre-programmed dedicated standard products. We are very honored for this. Renesas and Andes share the same vision. ——Welcome the era when RISC-V becomes the mainstream CPU instruction set architecture (ISA) of System-on-Chip (SoC). The cooperation between the two parties is not only a milestone for Andes, but also indicates that the open source RISC-V ISA will soon become a mainstream computing engine. Renesas Of customers will also benefit from a modern ISA built for the computing needs of the 21st century."Sailesh Chittipeddi, Executive Vice President of Renesas Electronics and General Manager of the Internet of Things and Infrastructure Business Division, said: "The scalable performance range, optional security features, and customization options provided by the Andes RISC-V core IP enable Renesas to target specific Applied standard products provide innovative solutions. To help customers looking for cost-effective alternatives to existing or emerging applications, benefit from shorter time to market and lower development costs."Renesas pre-programmed ASSP devices based on the RISC-V core architecture, combined with dedicated user interface tools to set the programmable parameters of the application, will build a complete and optimized solution for customers. This function eliminates the barriers related to the initial development of RISC-V and software investment. In addition, Renesas' extensive regional partners have extensive expertise and will provide customers with cutting-edge and dedicated technical support.
