Qualcomm launches 5G network infrastructure series chip platform

Qualcomm announced the launch of a series of 5G network infrastructure chip platforms for a wide range of deployment scenarios from macro base stations that support massive MIMO to compact small base stations, accelerating the transformation of the cellular ecosystem to a virtualized, interoperable radio access network (RAN) -This trend is driven by 5G. Qualcomm launched three new 5G RAN platforms: Qualcomm Radio Frequency Unit Platform, Qualcomm Push Distributed Unit Platform and Qualcomm Distributed Radio Unit Platform. The three platforms released this time are the world's first announced solutions designed to support the deployment of a new generation of open converged virtual RAN (vRAN) networks by leading mobile operators.
